Castled on the promontory of the Parasio, the ancient suburb of Porto Maurizio is a tangle of roads and tortuous wsmall street, all in slope.
The medieval nucleus of the suburb offers incomparable sight on the gulf and suggestive foreshortenings from the loggias of Santa Chiara, set to precipice on the sea, to the limit of the ancient surrounded building.

In neoclassic style, instead, the cathedral, devoted to St. Maurizio, stately construction, erect between 1781 and 1838, to the outside of the historical center.
